Affiliate Marketing Courses Part 2 – The One Time Membership Fee
March 18, 2010 in Internet & Online Business by admin
The cost of a course is a huge factor in whether you decide to buy or not however it is also a huge factor when it comes to those additional elements you want to have that I pointed out in part 1.
The Good News
With a one time membership fee you are safe in the knowledge that you will be able to access the course for ever more without any more payments. You also don’t have to be in a rush to get you home business up and running before the next payment is due, so you may find that you can then focus on your offering and the quality of you website, increasing the chances of being a successful affiliate marketer and making proper amounts of money online.
It seems that these are the ideal affiliate marketing courses to go for… however, remember the list of essential course elements in part 1.
You need to check what you will be getting from the course. Look at reviews and the courses’ sales page – are you getting everything you think you will need in order to get your first sale? Remember: once you have paid, the rest is up to you.
The Bad News
The thing you have to remember is that these affiliate marketing courses are a one time payment for a reason – they require little to no maintenance once the creator has published them. After sales support and up to date information are the first elements to suffer. You may not think this is important to begin with but if you are like me, I didn’t know anything about publishing a website or the technical side of keeping it maintained and having someone you can actually talk to who can walk you through it makes a huge difference. The Internet is also moving forward at a rate of knots! If you’re not getting up-to-date information then you could be learning dead methods which don’t work anymore.
The other danger with these affiliate marketing courses is that they usually require a lot of personal motivation to completethem and get your home business up and running. Also as the information is sometimes lacking the in-depth detail you may need, you have to be prepared to go and find an answer yourself if you don’t understand something.
In most of the one time membership fee courses I have come across, the information in them was harder to understand and digest purely because there obviously hadn’t been the time taken on constructing the course oronthe language being used.
I am not saying that all of these affiliate marketing courses are worthless, there are some good courses out there, just make sure that you will be getting everything you need to succeed.
If you are prepared to put the extra work in and not afraid of losing motivation half way through setting up your own online business then this may be the course for you. Otherwise, consider an course which has more support and extra goodies.
In Part 3 I will talk about what to look out for when buying an affiliate marketing course which has a monthly membership fee.
